About this tool

When an Excel file has more than one sheet, you can choose which sheet to convert.

Converting CSV to xlsx writes every value as text, so a leading zero in a ZIP code or phone number is never dropped.

How to use

Things to watch for

Every cell is written out as text, so a column you want to calculate with in Excel will need converting to numbers after opening it.

When converting from Excel, a cell containing a formula becomes the displayed result of that formula, not the formula itself.

FAQ

Opening the saved CSV in Excel shows garbled text. What should I do?: Choose "UTF-8 with BOM" when saving; Excel will then read it correctly.
