Date Calculator Free

Calculates the number of days between two dates, or the date a given number of days before or after another date.

About this tool

The result between two dates is also shown in weeks, months, and years, and you can choose whether to count the first day.

Each date is shown together with its day of the week.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our server.

When to use it

Useful for counting down the days until an event or deadline, or for finding out how many days have passed since a contract or project started.

Also useful for finding a date counted from another date, such as "payment is due 30 days after the invoice date" or "100 days after the due date."

How to use

  1. Choose "Days between two dates" or "Days before/after."
  2. For a date range, enter the start and end dates. For a date before or after, enter the base date and the number of days. Press "Use today's date" to fill in today.
  3. The result appears immediately.

Counting the first day

By default, the count starts the day after the start date, so Sep 1 to Sep 2 is 1 day. Turn on "Count the first day too (include both ends)" to count both end dates instead, so Sep 1 to Sep 2 becomes 2 days — useful for counting the days of an event or any inclusive date range. For a hotel stay, leave it off: Sep 1 to Sep 2 is one night.

FAQ

Does "Weekdays only" exclude public holidays too?
No, it excludes only Saturdays and Sundays. If you need business days excluding holidays, subtract those separately.
I entered the start and end dates in the wrong order.
They're swapped automatically before calculating.
How are months and years counted?
A month is counted using the same day-of-month as the start date. When starting from the end of a month, that month's last day is used, so one month after Jan 31 is Feb 28 or Feb 29.
